Something Old, New, Borrowed and Viral in Marketing

Inspiration for creative storytelling

Ellie Victor, CEO

On International Women’s Day, I had the honor of sharing insights on the future of marketing with a panel of female powerhouses, during U.C. Berkeley Extension’s event, New Marketing Challenges for Digital Innovators.

Our good friend and former client Gauthier Vasseur invited me for this panel along with Stephanie Buscemi, CMO at Confluent; and Michaela Dempsey, Senior Director, Demand Generation Global Integrated Marketing Strategy at Workday. As Executive Director at the Fisher Center For Business Analytics—UC Berkeley, Gauthier was an engaging, thought-provoking moderator.

At one point, Gauthier asks, “What are classic and new levers for marketing?” My answer is inspired by our amazing clients who take storytelling and community to the next level. Reflecting on ZOOM’s 25th anniversary, above I share something old, new, borrowed and viral, four stellar ways we’ve seen clients capture hearts and minds in their markets. Watch to the end when Gauthier reveals his secret background!

What are your old, new, borrowed and viral marketing levers?
