The 100 years of Leni and Margot

by Marianne Cronin

I'm drawn to narratives that explore the richness of intergenerational relationships and the wisdom they impart. This particular book brought to mind "The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett." It introduces us to Leni, a 17-year-old, and Margot, aged 83, who cross paths in an art class at a hospital. Upon realizing that their ages add up to a century, they devise a plan to paint each year of their lives. Through this endeavor, Leni and Margot forge a profound connection, each fulfilling a void in the other's life. Their journey teaches poignant lessons about saying goodbye gracefully and discovering it’s never too late to make a new friend.
